Forrest Aderholt

ABOUT

Forrest Aderholt is an artist living and working in Austin, Texas and joined. Contracommon in the summer of 2020. He earned his BFA in painting from Southwestern University in 2016. His work centers around exploring how upbringing and seemingly innocuous moments indoctrinate us into larger systems of power. Oftentimes the work begins at dissecting personal memories which lead to larger themes. He most often works in paint and will often incorporate textiles. He also creates illustrations via digital media and relief prints. Forrest often hosts Contracommon's Virtual Critique Group, which meets once monthly.
