CELEBRATE AUSTIN PRIDE WITH HILL COUNTRY ART MARKET, MUSIC, ACTIVITIES
Contracommon’s second Pride Market is a nighttime festival celebrating queer arts and community on August 31st, from 6pm to 10pm at the Hill Country Galleria’s central plaza. The festival will feature 30+ creative vendors, live music from Queer Vinyl Collective, complimentary refreshments provided by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, activities from local 2SLGBTQIA+ organizations, and testing services with the Aids Health Foundation. Attendance is completely free of charge! This festival directly supports the queer-identifying artists and organizations of Central Texas by connecting them with a huge community of art lovers throughout west Austin and the Hill Country. This project has been financed in part by the City of Austin’s Elevate Grant Program.
Contracommon is an artist-run, artist-led nonprofit arts space that supports artists in a collaborative setting. Connecting art and community is one of our central principles. We are proud to offer these opportunities for all: artists participating in the exhibition, vendors & musicians participating in the festival, members of our studios, and our audience of attendees who make the event worthwhile. Festivals like the Pride Market are our biggest events of the year. We rely on the support of our community members and sponsors to produce events like this—completely free for everyone to attend. We have a variety of levels of sponsorship and ad space available for local businesses and organizations, with many volunteer opportunities leading up to and during the festival also.
Contracommon’s Pride Market will take place at the Hill Country Galleria Central Plaza on August 31st, 2024 from 6-10pm.
