A SURVEY OF CONTEMPORARY PRINT WORK IN AUSTIN IS ON VIEW IN GROUP SHOW AT CONTRACOMMON THIS WINTER

Contracommon is proud to present IMPRINT ATX, a group exhibition of print works on display in conjunction with PrintAustin. The exhibition features 13 artists and will be on view from January 15 through February 15, 2022, with an artists’ reception on Saturday, February 5th from 6-9pm. The opening reception is free and open to the public.

IMPRINT ATX is a booth-style group exhibition acting as a survey of contemporary print work in Austin and the Central Texas area. The show includes works in a variety of print techniques, including monotype, collagraphy, intaglio, cyanotype, screenprint, linocut, woodcut and alternative relief printing. Artists on view include Forrest Aderholt, Taylor Bailey, Ashlyn Briscoe, Brock Caron, Denise Elliot Jones, Carol Hayman, Stephanie Khattak, Molly Knobloch, Sydney McLeod, Qarthian, Cynthia Reesendiz, Iris Rylander, and Kyle Saldaña.

PrintAustin is an annual month-long printmaking festival. From the organizers: “With several professional print shops, nationally recognized university printmaking programs, internationally acclaimed print collections, and a thriving printmaking community, Austin is a hub for printmaking in Texas. In collaboration with professional printmaking studios, local galleries, curators, and individual artists, PrintAustin showcases the work of contemporary printmakers from across the world and educates the public on the various techniques in printmaking. Through key partnerships with universities, museums, and commercial galleries, PrintAustin highlights the historical and cultural significance of this art form, hoping to inspire new and seasoned collectors to connect with artists working in this medium.”

IMPRINT ATX will be on view in the Contracommon Gallery from January 15 - February 15, 2022. The Gallery is open to the public from 12-6 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, with private viewing appointments available Monday - Thursday at calendly.com/contracommon. The artists’ reception will be held Saturday, February 5th from 6-9pm, which is free and open to the public.
