Secret Garden: Fundraiser Art Experience

  • Contracommon 12912 Hill Country Boulevard #F-140 Bee Cave, TX, 78738 (map)

NONPROFIT CREATES IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE FOR SPRINGTIME FUNDRAISER

The Secret Garden is a one-night-only immersive fundraising party blending art, music, and interactive installations. This event will take place May 9th from 7-11pm, serving as an opening reception for our upcoming show Perennials–a group exhibition showcasing creative resilience. A minimum donation of $30 grants you access to delights within, and all proceeds will support Contracommon's mission to provide accessible opportunities for emerging artists.

Guests are invited to view the exhibition in our gallery, as well as explore the labyrinthine facilities behind the gallery, which have been transformed for the evening. In the media room just off the main gallery, discover affordable art from artists who have participated in Contracommon’s programming in the past, each piece priced at $100. Step into 11 private artist studios and get to know our resident artists and their creative practices. Enjoy complimentary craft cocktails and refreshments from our sponsors and partners.

Experience the evening through interactive installations throughout the building, and live performances in a projection-mapped party space. Vibe to local musicians Hexpartner, a one-person neoclassical darkwave project that utilizes synthesizers, string instruments, and layered vocals, and Bennett & The Infinite Glowing Castle, a doom pop solo act–think dance music with a post-punk edge–who just released a new album.

Contracommon empowers underrepresented artists in Central Texas through community, collaboration, and creative exploration. Contracommon is an artist-run nonprofit arts space that focuses on supporting emerging artists’ professional development in a collaborative setting. Through a partnership with the Hill Country Galleria, Contracommon operates an experimental gallery space, provides affordable workspace to emerging artists and provides access to facilities to support artists’ practices. Resident studio members volunteer their time and expertise to work alongside staff in creating exhibits, workshops and events that connect individual artists to their community and promote artists’ small businesses.

The Secret Garden will be open May 9th from 7-11pm. Tickets are available for a sliding scale donation through our portal: mightycause.com/organization/Contracommon
